NEW Bible Study on Twelve EXTRAORDINARY Women!

Have you ever wanted to get to know Mary or Martha? How about Eve? If so, we've got an exciting new bible study entitled "Twelve Extraordinary Women" beginning Tuesday, July 5th at 7:00 pm. Each week we will focus on one or two women of the Bible, how God shaped them and what He wants to do with US.

The book we will be reading from is by John MacArthur. The cost is $11.00. The class will run from July 5th through Tuesday, August 9th at 7:00 pm.

We hope you will join us learn about these wonderful women of the Bible, and why they were SO important to God's plan.

What is a "Secret Sister"?

One of the most cherished components of the Women's Ministry at First Christian Church is our "Secret Sister" program.  What is a Secret Sister?  Every year women in our church who wish to participate in the program draw a name anonymously.  After reading over our new sister's questionnaire of likes, dislikes, favorite hobbies, interests, prayer requests, etc., we then support her throughout the year with thoughtful notes, cards and small gifts.  We not only get an opportunity to get to know another member of the church, but we are also able to provide encouragement, prayer for specific struggles, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and surprise her with inexpensive gifts like a favorite worship CD or Christian novel while keeping our identity a secret.

At the end of the program's year, we reveal ourselves to our "sister" at a group brunch.  It is such a blessing and a privilege to learn about each other and to have prayed for her during the previous months.  We then draw names for the next year and begin again!

NEW 6-Week Bible Study Begins May 10 & 11

Our newest Women's Bible Study series begins Tuesday, May 10th entitled, "10 Principles For Studying Your Bible" by Dr. Charles Stanley. It will last six weeks.

Dr. Stanley explains, "You don't have to go through life wondering if the next storm will be the one that washes your life out to sea. God has an answer for your greatest need, but it is only found in the study of His Word. God tells us that if we seek Him, we will find Him, and when we uncover His truth, we gain clear direction for our lives and circumstances."

In 10 Principles for Studying Your Bible, Dr. Stanley provides practical insight into God's Word by walking us through his own approach to personal Bible study.

Space is still available to participate in this exciting and important class. Books are only $7.00. There are two time slots available - Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm beginning May 10th, or Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am beginning May 11th.
